Beschreibung:

Bericht über die "Allgemeine Ausstellung für Sport, Spiel und Turnen", Berlin, zitiert Egidy (S. 112) im Ausstellungskatalog: "The body of a woman must be trained just as carefully as that of a man". "... last not least, Mr. Otto Lilienthal writes a quite, unaffected paper on the advantages of flying as an athletic exercise. [...] this flying machine is the attraction of the exhibition. [...] Every sunday afternoon [...] after a flight of about 700 meters. [sic! ...] In its present stage the flying-machine is, of course, a toy, but a future of hovering, fluttering, soaring gymnasts may yet look down with smiling pity on our present clumsy cycles. People will invent hygienic flying costumes, doctors will send their patients flying upwards - for changes of air!"
